Hoya cumingiana 'Albomarginata'

Native to the tropical primary forests of the Philippines, the species Hoya cumingiana was named after the 19th-century botanical collector Hugh Cuming. The coveted 'Albomarginata' cultivar is celebrated for its bright, creamy white leaf margins. It features small, succulent, oval leaves closely arranged along semi-woody stems. Its blossoms feature golden-yellow petals surrounding a deep reddish-purple center that release a sweet, distinctive fragrance.

Unlike most vining Hoya, this species grows as a semi-upright or trailing shrubby plant. In the wild, it grows on limestone cliffs and rocky outcrops in tropical forests. The stems grow stiff and upright while young, eventually weeping or cascading over the sides of the pot as they gain length. Because of its native conditions this species can handle higher amounts of light than the average Hoya with ease.
