Hoya caudata 'Sumatra' | Live plant rooted in 3in clear pot | For sale
Hoya caudata 'Sumatra'
is highly sought after for its tough, leathery leaves with a naturally "distressed" look. The hairy deep green surface is splashed with silver flecks and the margins are slightly rippled, giving the entire plant a wonderfully prehistoric appearance. The leaves are easily sunstressed, taking on red or sun-bleached bronze hues when grown under high light. When it blooms it produces stunning clusters (umbels) of fluffy, star-shaped white and pink/red blossoms with a sweet nighttime scent.
Originating from the warm, low-lying tropical rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia, this unique epiphyte thrives in high-humidity, dappled-light environments under dense forest canopies. It is a strong and hardy grower that loves a stable warm environment and will rapidly climb any trellis, producing many frequent blooms when happy.
